Rat Retirement
For over 40 years the Dairy Council “Great Grow Along” Rat Program has been scientifically showing students the great health benefits of drinking milk everyday. It is now time for the rats to retire. They have enjoyed working with so many wonderful 5th and 6th grade teachers and students over the years and they hope everyone will remember their important messages: “drink milk to grow strong and healthy” and “to consume a variety of foods from all Five Food Groups everyday”!

The Revolution for Healthy kids is on.  Please help us lead the charge.

Your Washington State Dairy Council has teamed up with the National Football League to lead the revolution for healthier kids!  We're giving you all the tools you need to win - we've reserved a free Wellness Activation Kit for your school.  This kit will help your students make positive changes when it comes to their eating and exercise habits.  It will also help your school achieve it's wellness policy goals.

Wellness Activiation Kits are available for a limited time, so interested staff members should order your school's kit today.  (Kits will be shipped to registered schools in September 2008.)

Our new Food Group Guide is a terrific tool to teach about nutrient-rich foods in the five food groups. The front side shows foods in each group, and the reverse side shows how amounts of various foods can count toward meeting daily recommendations. The beautiful full-color educational tool is available both as a poster and as a handout. The Washington State Dairy Council thanks the many nutrition experts and classroom educators in our state who guided its development.  New Food Group Guide-Food Identification List is available for free download.

Think your drink! When it comes to nutrition, not all drinks are created equal. This 24” x 31” colorful poster compares labels and the nutrient values of eight different beverages.
